The Circle Diner was a very popular eatery at the Junction of Routes 202,31 & 12 in Flemington, New Jersey. It wasn't hard to find information on the place. Heck, there's even a Facebook group devoted to it. The history of what happened to it, and why there's a TGI Fridays there now is pretty fascinating:
From the mid-1950s until 1994, the Circle Diner at the intersection of routes 202 and 31 was one of the most popular places to eat in town. In 1994, the building burned down, when the owner had the place torched in an attempt to cash in on the $1 million insurance. James Katsaros admitted the scheme in 1996.
